Lindsay’s experience with childbirth began while researching her senior thesis in Anthropology concerning the culture of homebirth and the philosophy of midwifery care. Through that that process she fell in love with midwifery and began on the path towards becoming a homebirth midwife. She attended her first birth in 2002 and soon enrolled in her studies at Birthwise Midwifery School. Through her training she apprenticed with four homebirth practices and traveled to a busy birth center in the Philippines completing her training and certification in 2006. She joined Brenda Surabian of Sacopee Valley Birthing Services in 2006 and has continued in partnership with Brenda.

She is a Certified Professional Midwife as well as a New Hampshire Certified Midwife. She is a member of the Maine Midwifery Associations, Midwives Alliance of North America, Citizens for Midwifery, and the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives.

Lindsay and her husband Ryan live in Brownfield, Maine with their son Solomon who was joyfully born at home in May of 2010. She is a loving wife, mother, midwife, and blueberry farmer, also helping as much as she can with her husbands native plant nursery.
