Josie Skavdahl is a Naturopathic doctor and Certified Professional Midwife. She grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota and went to college at the University of Montana before moving to Seattle, Washington. Josie graduated from Bastyr University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, and went on to receive her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Midwifery Certification. She attended births in Washington and delivered babies in a small hospital in the country of Vanuatu.

Josie's love for naturopathy and midwifery stems from a desire to promote health with minimal intervention and maximum cost effectiveness- natural remedies treating the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms. Josie practiced for two years in Philadelphia before moving to Maine.

Josie lives with her husband, David and their dog AJ in Topsham. She is an avid climber and runner, enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and drinking coffee.

She is a member of American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Maine Association of Naturopathic Doctors, Midwives Alliance of North America, and Maine Association of Certified Professional Midwives.
